1.      What is the history of The Clearinghouse?  
  • In January, 1999, The Clearinghouse was built into the PACE legislation for Pennsylvania residents over-income and underage for the PACE program.
  • Two people started the program by working with residents in twelve counties to complete drug manufacturer applications to assist in getting their medications for free.
  • Over the years, The Clearinghouse has expanded to assist Pennsylvania residents in all 67 counties.
  • In 2014, The Clearinghouse began to assist inmates and reentrants due to the already existing PACE and Pennsylvania Department of Corrections partnership that began in 2012.
2.      Do I qualify?  
  • Must be a Pennsylvania resident
  • Must be 18 or older
3.      Is there a fee for your services?  
  • The Clearinghouse never charges a fee for our services.
4.      Does my income matter?  
  • The Clearinghouse does not have a defined income limit and attempts to assist all clients.
  • The programs that we help you apply to have their own income guidelines and may require proof of income.
  • The Clearinghouse provides social services in addition to medication assistance to all Pennsylvania residents/inmates and reentrants.
5.      I am over income for the PACE program.  Do I qualify for your program?  
  • We attempt to assist all clients regardless of age or income.
6.      Is The Clearinghouse program the same as the PACE program?  
  • The Clearinghouse is part of the PACE legislation designed to assist Pennsylvania residents who are over-income and underage for the PACE program.
